Clarins Everlasting Foundation Review

Ah...I am sitting in front of my computer not really knowing what to tell you about this foundation. I know what I think about it but I wish my thoughts were different...I purchased this a few weeks ago because I was almost out of my Estee Lauder Double Wear Light (review coming soon) and I wanted to try a new long lasting foundation. I very rarely wear foundation for 15h but I still prefer foundations that claim (and succeed) to last a long time because I don't want to worry about my foundation all day, to me long lasting means less trouble...well that is as long as it is really long lasting...

I like the packaging, I like that it has a pump and that the pump distributes just the right amount of product. The bottle is pretty, but glass bottles are not the best...I don't have a really big space next to my mirror to put my makeup down while I'm applying it and I'm always afraid I'll drop the bottle and break it.

The foundation smells really nice, it smells like honeydew :) It blends nicely into the skin and does not dry too fast so you have enough time to blend it and build it up if you want. It is full coverage and it has a ticker consistency than most liquid foundations. On the box it said this has a matte, but luminous, finish. On my skin it has more of a dewy finish. It also says that its supposed to minimize imperfections and fine lines but it made my pores look really big, even if I was wearing the POREfessional under it. I tried this foundation with 3 different primers and it did not change anything. And as for the 15h hours of impeccable coverage and comfort... well no. It is comfortable all day, I don't feel the foundation on my skin but after a few hours (app. 5) the foundation kind of looks like it has melted and cracked around my nose (which has never happened to me with any foundation) and the product does not look like it has been blended evenly on my skin, it looks a bit patchy.

I was really disappointed about this product because I had read great reviews about it and it is a high end foundation...it was 41$. I hate that I paid that much money but do not want to use it...I will try it with other primers and a different powder and I really hope it will work. I can't say I don't recommend this foundation because it might work for other people ( probably people with normal to dry skin) but I really really recommend getting a sample before purchasing a high end foundation so you do not waste money.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Oil Free Review

This is not a new product and I bought it 2 years ago if I remember well...It's a pretty popular tinted moisturizer, Laura Mercier is well known because of them. Today, every brand is coming out with their version of a tinted moisturizer, bb cream or cc cream so I thought it would be interesting to review an original product.

The reason I still have it after two years is not because I do not like it, but because it's a big tube and you don't need a lot for each use. It is 1.7oz which is 0.7oz more than you usually get with a standard foundation bottle. It is pretty expensive, it is 55$ (in Canada, 43$ in U.S.) but like I said, you get more product, so if you take in consideration that it will last you longer, it is not thaaaat bad. What is great about this tinted moisturizer is that it comes in 15 shades. Your read right, 15 shades!! It's more than many foundations, drugstore or high end. Another reason I still have this tube after two years is because mine is not the right shade for me currently, it will be better for the summer when I get a bit darker. I would really like to buy the right color, but right now it is a too expensive for me and I prefer trying new foundations.

I really like this tinted moisturizer. I tried a few others and also a few BB creams and this one is my favourite. It has light coverage, but still better than most tinted moisturizer. You can build it up and it still looks really natural. It has a natural finish, not too matte even if it say oil free, it looks like natural skin and holds up pretty well during the day. I never powder with this and it still looks good at the end of the day. It is not transfer resistant so be careful to not rub your face on people's clothes. It is perfect for summer because it is light and comfortable to wear. It is a moisturizer so it is also great to wear during winter, but I recommend wearing a normal moisturizer under it.

I will probably finish this tube this summer and after I will definitely repurchase it in the right color (they added new colors last year). Let me know if you have tried this and what you thought about it :)

Hydraluron Review

This product has gotten a lot of hype on the internet in 2013 and I can definitely understand why. It is from a brand called Indeed Laboratories and can be found in Shoppers drugstore in Canada and Walgreens in the U.S. It retails for 19.99$ at my drugstore and you get 1oz of product. So...what is the product exactly?

On the website it says : The ultimate daily facial moisture boosting serum that starts where your moisturizer stops.  hydraluron™ contains a pure form of hyaluronic acid, an incredibly hydrating ingredient that holds up to 1,000 times its weight in water.  Red marine algae helps with maximum delivery.  The result – better hydrated, moisture nourished, plumped up skin.  Give your skin a daily dose of hydration and integrate hydraluron™ moisture boosting serum into your skin care regime.  Moisture relief is on the way.

It is a serum that has a gel consistency and you are supposed to put this on a clean face, before your daily moisturizer. It feels fresh and wet when you first apply it, but it dries very quickly. You only need a pea size amount to cover the face and if you use it once a day it can last few 2-3 months.

I really love this serum. I first purchased it because when I get stressed (which mostly happens during school months) I get eczema on my forehead and sometimes around my eyes :( I do have a prescription for cortisone but  the regular use of cortisone is really not good, it was meant to be used for 2 or 3 weeks only (doctor's order) and my eczema did not stop after that period of time. When I heard about Hydraluron I was interested because I thought it would be able to help with my problem and it did! Using regular moisturizer was not enough for my eczema but since using this serum it has completely stopped. I noticed it made my skin look more plumped and healthy and after being almost done with this first tube, I can say this product really works. I will definitely repurchase it :)

Benefit the POREfessional Review

I am sure you have heard of this product before...it is definitely not new but with all those new pore perfecting primers and serums coming out, a lot of people are using this product as a reference as it was one of the first of this kind. I have been using this primer for many months now and tried it with different foundations and it did not work the same with all foundations but I think it has to do with the foundations not the primer itself.

It comes in a 0.75 oz practical tube and is very easy to use. It claims to quickly minimize the appearance of pores and fine lines and help makeup stay put. You can (and should) apply the primer before putting on foundation and you can also put it over the foundation if you want to touch up throughout the day.

I apply it only on specific parts of my face where I want to conceal pores or fine lines, not over my entire face. I put it on and then wait a few minutes to let it set before putting on my foundation. This way, the primer does not mix with the foundation.

I like this primer but it is not great. It does conceals pores and fine lines but not for a very long time (just to mention, I have combination skin, oilier during summer, drier during winter). After a few hours of wearing makeup my pores are almost the same as if I had not put primer in the first place. I don't take the tube everywhere with me everyday, but if I have something special and want my skin to look perfect all day I take it with me and touch up once during the day and it really works. I just put a little bit over the areas that need touch ups and put a bit of powder over to set it and I'm good to go! It does not look cakey or too much.

It's a nice primer for minimizing pores but I will try to find something better after I finish this one. A girl at Sephora suggested I try the Dr. Brandt Pores no More primer and I think I will :)

It's a 10 Miracle Leave-in Product Review

I bought this this summer after hearing many girls on youtube talk about great it was. I bought the smaller bottle because a) it was less expensive (still 12$ for 60 ml) and b) I like trying products in small sizes before committing to the full thing. I'm happy I got the small size because I don't really like this stuff...

My hair is normal to fine and between wavy and curly when it's natural. This product is suppose to do 10 things:
1. Repair dry, damaged hair
2. Add shine
3. Detangle
4. Thermal styling protection
5. Seal and protect hair color
6. Prevent split ends
7. Stop hair breakage
8. Create silkiness
9. Enhance natural body
10. Flat iron spray & thermal protector (same as #4)

Well for me, it only did one thing and that was detangling my hair. At the time I tried this, my hair was not great, I had split ends and it was not super shiny and silky. The product did nothing to help with that and I found that it weighted my hair down more than adding natural body to it, and I did not use a lot. According to me, the claims of this product are too ambitious... It's not a terrible product but it's not good either and I would not repurchase.

L'ORÉAL Youth Code Texture Perfector Review

I purchased this product right when it came out a few months ago. I don't have really bad «texture issues» with my skin but I do have visible pores on my cheeks and forehead and it's why I wanted to try this product. The bottle being almost empty I can say I have had enough time to see if the product has been effective or not and if I would want to repurchase it.

First, let's talk about the product itself. When it comes to skincare the least important thing is packaging, all you want is the product to be effective, right? But it does help when the packaging is nice...I love that this has a pump that distributes the product nicely and I love the fact that it's pink :) It's a 30 ml bottle (1oz) and one pump is enough to cover my entire face so the bottle lasts a pretty long time, approximatively 2 to 3 months (I use this only at night). The price depends on where you bought it, but I bought it at my local drugstore for 23.99$. It's not cheap but I don't think other products like that exist for less money...If they do, please let me know!

I like it...but I can't say it has made a huuuuge difference in my skin. Maybe my skin does not have enough texture issues to be able to see the efficiency of the product. It made my skin really soft, softer than before and it made my dry patches disappear. I did see a small difference in the size of my pores. They have not completely disappeared but they are definitely smaller than before.

I would recommend this product, I think it can work on all skin types and people with bigger skin issues than me will see better results. I don't know if I will repurchase this because I would like to try something else.

If you have tried this product, let me know what you think about it! :)
